New York Faith and Justice is a growing movement of churches, organizations, and individuals committed to following Christ, uniting the church, and ending poverty through spiritual formation, education, and direct advocacy.99% volunteer and intern led, we are part of a larger movement of faith-filled New Yorkers committed to doing justice and ending poverty in New York City.  Our contribution is to organize faith communities from diverse economic, ethnic, geographic, theological and liturgical traditions.  Building the bridge of common understanding and purpose; we stand on that bridge and speak with one voice about one thing – poverty.

How to Apply?

New York Faith & Justice welcomes a limited number of interns into its internship program each year.  We are currently accepting applications for the 2009-2010 program year.  Interns typically commit to working 10-15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months, though we require a one year commitment for some positions. The precise nature of the work will vary according to the particular needs of each internship.  Generally, interns are paired with and supervised by professionals in various corners of the NY Faith and Justice movement.  In addition, interns are mentored in the art of movement-building and leadership development by NY Faith & Justice co-founder and executive director, Lisa Sharon Harper.
